The little brother of the larger Phoenix military model, the Phoenix-2 has the same indestructible, one piece construction, being milled from a single piece of 6mm thick z60 steel and finished with a professionally sharpened edge. Features include the blade being coated in a matt, black oxide finish. For the grip - a one piece Elastron handle is moulded securely into the tang of the knife, the end of which protrudes and can be used as an expedient field hammer, should the need arise. Good knives need an equally good method of retention, and thus, aswell as making exceptional knives, Kizlyar also make excellent sheaths and scabbards. The Phoenix-2 model comes with a molded, ABS polymer sheath with multiple carry position options. It can also be worn on the side of the calf muscle with the aid of a belt extension that is included. The sheath / scabbard is also constructed in a way that allows the knife to be inserted into the sheath in either direction, as a military pre-requisite for a combat / utility knife. It is no wonder that several of Russia’s foremost, elite military and law enforcement units have found favour with both versions of the popular Phoenix model. They have subsequently adopted them as the preferred choice of knife and / or “cold weapon”.
